I think I mentioned here that I felt sick in the stomach due to food poisoning… Well it turned out that I caught a stomach virus that my dad could have possibly brought home due to his exposure with sick patients. Screw my weak immune system. But I’m fine now and good as new.

I received a link to a “dummy” Yahoo!Photos page hosted at GeoCities via the URL http://geocities.com/updated_pictures.
The page looks harmless [as it looks EXACTLY like the Y!Photos Login Page].
I entered my username and password, as I thought it was just a redirection to Y!Photos, but as I clicked on the “Sign In” button, my browser’s status bar indicated that my information [Yahoo! username & password] was being sent to a certain http://www2.fiberbit.net/form/mailto.cgi. I checked the HTML source, and yes, it looks like it’s been tampered. This page was designed to COLLECT YOUR MEMBER INFORMATION. I even had to change my password twice because of this. PLEASE PASS THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST!
THIS METHOD IS CALLED “PHISHING” and is PUNISHABLE BY LAW.

Opensource rocks. Thanks to KittyRainbow@FanGathering, I was able to find some really brilliant opensource alternatives for Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office. This laptop, unfortunately, is not equipped with the said programs–thus, hooray for such alternatives! I was quite fed up with downloading 30-day trial versions of Adobe Photoshop CS! Imagine the savings on this one–over US$1,000 worth of software! Kitty, if you’re reading this–A HUGE THANK YOU. &heart;
