D’Arvit!

I wish I could just bring my acceptance letters from the universities I passed in the Philippines and show the admissions people that I already took those tests and made it. UNC’s still waiting for my SAT scores, though. They’ve practically accepted me, and the SAT scores are just part of protocol, but still, I’m pressured. Sometimes I wish I just took the SATs back in 4th year–during that time when I was actually thinking of taking them.

To add to the pressure, I remember this short conversation I had with my aunt over the phone. She was like, “Oh, so you’re taking the SATs? Good luck! Your SAT scores are very important!!!” Yeah. Thanks for reminding me.

I talked to the financial aid supervisor in school, and he was like, “I hate to put the pressure on you, but I just have to tell you that those SAT scores are very important… We determine if you’re eligible for scholarship based on those.” No need to apologize.

My dad was like, “Oh, so the SATs are just very similar to the ACET? Well you passed the ACET with flying colors, so I’m sure you’ll score well on the SATs.”

A last pressure-laden statement made by a friend: “You can do it, Pam! I can already see it: you’re gonna shine in college! I can see it clearly now!”

First of all, I’m feeling very very very pressured.

Second, I don’t wanna let them down.
They’re counting on me. It sucks, but they really are.
