The Baddest Word You'll Never Know

"YOU ROCK!" and this week's weird-isms

Michael, my weird seatmate, went ballistic at English class this afternoon when he saw a Calculus book on top of my desk. I got in by the end of his hysterics.

Michael: OMG WTF BBQ it’s a CALCULUS BOOK!!! *&^*($^&*$
Whatshername: Why are you going hysterical over a Calculus book?
Michael: I mean, it’s a Calculus book!
Me: *weirded out look*
Michael: YOU ROCK! *raises hand* Gimme five!
Me: *weirded out look*
Whatsherface: I suggest you don’t touch his hand.
Me: *lol*
Michael: *akward*
Me: *oops*

I never met actual people who were as random as that. [Well, okay, maybe Andrew J. from last semester spoke in "1337"]  I only saw that kind of behavior in online forums, thus, me getting weirded out. I’m still not used to seeing live randomness, I’m afraid. It was really funny when it happened. Strange thing, it doesn’t seem to be as funny now when put into words. :(

Speaking of more randomness and weird-isms [yay, I think I just coined that new word! :P ], I was peacefully surfing the Net at the computer lab, when suddenly, a professor quickly passed by the door, paused for a split-second, and then stepped backwards to look at me.

I thought that he was going to drive me out of the computer lab, maybe because he was going to use the room for his class, but now this is what he said, in a very professor-esque manner:

Professor: *stepping backwards* My… well, uh..
Me: *ready to make an excuse look*
Professor: Y-you know, you have very beautiful hair.
Me: *weirded out look*
Professor: Uh-huh
Me: Ehe. :? Thank you.
Professor: *nods and leaves*

So I’m not gonna cut off my hair anymore. Kidding. ;) I think that they’re just so used to seeing blondes and brunettes and so my hair color becomes sort of something new to them.

Weather weirdisms: Snow in Los Angeles, and, as Dr.K puts it, “demolition derby” in the Interstate from Raleigh towards down here south. Global warming is real, and its effects are happening. :( We had freezing rain and sleet this week, and predictions say that Sunday would bring another snow storm. Snow storm in the Carolinas! :O How strange. :? Anyway I hope that it doesn’t snow too much because I’ve never driven on snow, and I have to commute to school everyday [knowing that driving has been more dangerous these days]. :(

* * * *
The first few days of the Spring semester aren’t bad at all. :) All my professors are as cool as they were depicted at RateMyProfessors.com, save for Madame Calculus. I was told that she’s quite the lunatic, and they were right. :( Oh well.

Because I took a very light course load last semester, this time around, I made it a point to fully load it in order to maximize the time. I finally got my foreign college credit evaluated by WES. The University is now about to add 12-15 units’ worth of college credit to my US transcript, which makes me a sophomore. Right on time. :D

Contrary to what I’ve mentioned in my previous entry, **** isn’t in my ***-*** class. :( Oh well. My social scene has been rolling recently, with a few of my classmates last semester [virtually] keeping in touch, and new ones being friendlier and approachable. :) My full course load this semester is well worth it, in my opinion, because it’s given me more opportunity to meet more people.

Yes, I guess I am happy… and I feel loved. :)

Anyway, I gotta go hit the books again! ;) I miss you guys! :(

PLUG: Check out Steph’s latest entry, which contains the famous Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) speech/song. :)
