D’Arvit!

The Baddest Word You’ll Never Know.

Woot*

I’ve been strangely bombarded by this word.
In blog entries. In YM conversations. Flash animations. I’m not bothered by it, but then again, it’s woot. I mean, huh?
Woot.
Woot.
Woot.

Just a few more days before the 20th

I think I mentioned here that I felt sick in the stomach due to food poisoning… Well it turned out that I caught a stomach virus that my dad could have possibly brought home due to his exposure with sick patients. Screw my weak immune system. But I’m fine now and good as new.

Politics, Bucky, and PHP Skinning

Seems like a long time since my last blog entry. *gasp*
Well, not really. I’ve finally taken the initiative to convert D’Arvit! into a PHP blog, complete with PHP skinning. It’s about time I tried out something different.. I’ve been using iframes for such a long time now, and it’s all screwing up my blog–not to [...]

D’Arvit!’s 100th Blog Entry

What’s so special about the number 100?
Well I don’t know, either.
People just love to celebrate. They assign special symbolism for specific numbers or specific points in time. That is the reason why mankind invented calendars, numbers, ages, birthdays, and the notion of time.
“Time. A footspan on eternity’s trail.”
Time flies so fast… It moves too soon… [...]

It shouldn’t have come to this…

“What an unglamourous way to die!”
That’s partly what my aunt said when she heard that a family member was suffering severe pain from rectal hemorroids and constipation.
“You shouldn’t suffer too much,” she lectured. “What if you die in the toilet? What an unglamourous way to die!”
We haven’t talked lately, but I daresay she [...]

It’s an “aZn thAng”… [what the bloody hell...]

There are strange things that I have observed from a few Filipino-Americans that I consider uncanny and very much disturbing/depressing. Most Fil-Am teens [including the tweens and twenty-nothings too] have this annoying habit of taking pride in their “aZn” [translate: Asian] heritage, in a wrong wrong wrong way. Examples:
“aZn thAng” clothes. Huge baggy jerseys and [...]

Food for thought

I got this from an email sent by Lora. I can say it actually enlightened me.

Rose……
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and
challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood
up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.
I turned around to find [...]
