I realized how bright blue on black hurts your eyes after a long time. That’s why I’ve switched over to the default WordPress theme for now. Theme crisis much?

Yeah, I guess. I just can’t find the time to do layouts anymore. Ever since my move to WordPress, this blog suffered from numerous theme crisis episodes [this one included].

Busy?

Yeah.

Lazy?

I guess so.

Sometimes, there are more things to prioritize at the moment. Currently, I’ve lost inspiration for anything web design related. Maybe it’s because I don’t have any fansites to maintain, or group blogs to moderate anymore. The fact that my parents disapprove of this doesn’t help, either.

Theme crisis? Perhaps I should call this Theme Drought. Or Creativity Drought. Or…

To Hell With It, I’m Sick Of It All.

I was getting sick of my previous theme’s IE6 and ul/li hyperlink issues, so I looked for a better alternative.

Kudos to the theme creators–this is probably one of my favorite WP themes ever!

This would be a nice temporary layout while I finish up my own design.

I’d be keeping this for a while because I think it’s really lovely.

I have a slight problem with IE6 — I thought this was compatible with IE6 — but once I implemented the theme, it started messing up once again.

I’ll try fixing it for now.

For the mean time…
well, I have to go anyway. XD

I just bought my stuff for the coming semester, and then I realized that I have to get rid of those books that I don’t need anymore. XD

I’m posting my listings just in case somebody else is in need of a cheaper alternative to the money-draining listings found in your school bookstores. And yes, I take good care of my books, so all of these are in top condition!

Yesterday, I decided to be selfish for a change, so I went on to design my new blog theme. I still have that grunge-paper-texture fixation, so that’s what I was aiming for yesterday. Suddenly, my mom was like, “What is that? Fungus? Mould?”

My whole world came tumbling down.

I think I lost “my touch”. I have a bad habit of over-perfectionism when it comes to designing stuff–hence I work so slow.

Maybe not today.

Anyway, did I mention something about my mom’s aunt [a. k. a. my great aunt?] who was planning to sell butterflies online?

She originally asked my brother to make her an e-commerce site–but then again, Arjay forgot HTML and web design altogether, so he handed over the project to me.

I was really excited with this whole e-commerce thing, and I had a test version set up locally [powered by WordPress, of course, using this nifty WordPress shopping cart plugin].

Unfortunately, she got fed up of waiting and cancelled the whole thing altogether.

Her loss.

I mean, first of all, she doesn’t even have a business plan.

Heck, she didn’t even give me the real butterfly photos. What am I supposed to do? Go to Google Images and search for butterly pupae?

She was planning to sell wildlife for Pete’s sake!

She has to register her “business” and get approval from the DENR.

She has to get a PayPal account, SSL hosting [I won't host her!], and even a good domain name–and she expects me to do everything for her in a snap.

I’ve seen freelancers charge US$300 for a simple blog layout.

I’m offering my stuff for free.

Sure, I work a bit slow, but hey, I also have a life beyond my computer, don’t I?

Annoying.

PPS: This theme’s CSS is giving me headaches. I just found out recently that this theme
doesn’t look good in IE6. [Thanks to MichaelM for the Multiple IEs link!] I’ve fixed that now, along with other “bugs”. As you can see, I still have not fixed the ugly blue links on my bulleted lists–the theme designer isn’t too fond of them in the first place, hence his/her disregard for the link list styling. Hopefully, I’ll get my theme done after my Spanish finals. After my finals, I’ll have two weeks free to do anything I want before the Fall semester begins. I don’t think that the Vegas trip’s going to push through, but either way, it doesn’t matter, really.

/EDIT: Okay, I changed my theme once again. This time, this is compatible with IE6 and the lower versions of Firefox. I can’t wait to finish my own theme!

My summer classes begin on Monday. No worries, though, since I’ll be having my last Math and a Physics subject.

Things have been really hectic lately, with my Mom and bro around.

I’ve been the official family chauffeur these days, driving them around, and running a bunch of errands, here and there.

My brother’s been hogging the laptop because he just has to keep in touch with his girlfriend. We have to buy a new PC now that he’s around. One isn’t enough for both of us. He has his friends to keep in contact with, and I have my own.

Tough living in another country. XD

But it’s fun, though. Frankly, I’m excited about this Summer session.

but then again, I got distracted by the Visual DNA thing.

I’m also working on a new design for darvit.net… CSS Remix has a LOT of beautiful CSS layouts
to draw inspiration from.

Other inspirational sites are CSS Drive, Web Creme, CSS Mania, CSS Beauty, and CSS Based.

Oh well. I’ll go upgrade this blog to WordPress 2.2 [which has been released two days ago].

I truly madly DEEPLY miss high school.

Oh God… That moment that I got that Y!Message from JB reminded me of how I miss that dear old place. I would have loved to visit MC again.

Ironically, if you go back to my old posts in high school, you would see how I hated the place: how I hated Miss ___’s stinking guts, or how this subject sucked.

I am so over that.

Right now, there’s only one thing: I miss high school. Terribly.

 So yes, I have eaten all the words that I have said.. but I don’t care anymore. Let me be.

Spring Break started as soon as Dr.L dismissed us last Friday. All my midterms are over.

The hell week has passed.

I was looking forward for a fun-filled week, but alas! I got afflicted with an el terrible throat virus. I must have gotten it from my classmates.. Andrea was complaining of a bad sorethroat as of Friday, Michael and Emmy were sneezing and coughing behind me, and pretty much everyone has been sneezing and coughing once in a while.

My body finally gave in by Saturday, and one thing I learned is that shopping with a really bad sorethroat is no fun at all.

Thankfully I’m feeling better now.

I’ve been making a bunch of avatars and signatures for this über-cool Artemis Fowl website called Artemis Fowl FanGathering. The whole assignment has actually pushed me to create those avatars that I have wanted to create for a long time. Hopefully, when I finish with the new layout and website, I can add my avatars and stuff for you guys to download.

Summer classes were over, oh, and I have a GPA of 4.0. Grabe, kelangan ko pa talagang pumunta dito sa Amerika para lang maka-A sa Math! Grabe. :O

Anyway, I might just get my domain pretty soon. And expect the new website in a few weeks!

So yeah, this is all for now. The Fall semester begins on the 17th of August! I’ll be hitting the books again! I can’t wait! So yeah… ‘Til my next update!

Goodbye stupid easy Math class and uber-old classmates! [Aww, goodbye 1st UNCP crush. ]

This is a temporary layout. I was able to import my old blog entries [and some recent comments] from my old Blogger account and the current Stonerocket one. I still haven’t made a new layout, though.

I was too busy driving visiting relatives back and forth… We were able to visit the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, btw. ’twas beautiful… Too beautiful, in fact. But that’s another story. [Pics are coming soon via my Multiply account.]

This is, once again, my temporary layout.

I have to fix up a bunch of themes for wordpress.

Oh, and I just might be able to purchase the domain name, darvit.tk. What does this mean? It means that it won’t be just a silly redirection service anymore.. I could have URLs like http://blog.darvit.tk or http://darvit.tk/randomness

I’m hoping that my parents would allow me to do a domain purchase… But at the rate they’re going, they’ve started getting really comfortable with online transactions, so it won’t be too long before I could get me a domain. If not an offical .tk one, a .net or .com would do….
